J'ai l'immense plaisir et honneur de me rendre de nouveau dans cette superbe île, si accueillante.
Tous les 4 ans, le Festival international Chawan organisé par l'extraordinaire équipe du Zhunan Snake kiln est au service de l'art du thé et de la céramique. L'esprit de partage et d'amitié est mêlé à un professionnalisme sans conteste.
J'y proposerai un Thé sans Cérémonie avec mes céramiques le 10 Septembre de 10h30 à 12h. Modeste contribution à ce superbe évènement.

I'm delighted and honored to get ready for another trip to this beautiful and so welcoming island.
Every 4 years, the international Chawan Festival, organized by the fantastic team at Zhunan Snake kiln, celebrates the art of tea and ceramics.
Unquestionable professionalism in a spirit of sharing and friendship.
I will propose a tea ceremony with my ceramics on september 10th from 10.30 to 12 AM

Surrounded by Chawans and other tea sets by outstanding masters from around the world, I am happy to present 5 Chawans.
I'll be giving a lecture there on my birthday!
The film 'Drops of Light on my Clay' gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse of my working process. In 2021 it was selected and broadcast at the ceramics film festival in Jingdezhen.
In the second part of my lecture, I will share some investigation methods with local raw materials, in my unending quest for glazes.

Le film "Lumière sur ma Terre" que Christope Dumazer a tourné sur ma pratique céramique y sera diffusé.
Je poursuivrai en ouvrant les coulisses de mes recherches récentes dans le domaine de l'émail, à base de matières naturelles locales.
Le film d'Eric Alain "Rêve Céladon" apportera sa touche poétique...

Et au fait, un Chawan, qu'est-ce que c'est ?
Du chinois "Bol à Thé", il s'agit là d'un objet très codifié.
En bref: dans le Chawan, les feuilles de thé sont directement mélangées à l'eau chaude. L'utilisateur contemple ainsi le déploiement des feuilles au cours des 3 eaux successives. Les critères pour un bon chawan sont nombreux et l'appréciation personnelle y a sa place.
Mes critères préférés: Outre les qualités esthétiques, force et stabilité, le Chawan doit se lover dans les mains, les réchauffer sans les brûler, permettre l'exhalaison des parfums, posséder une lèvre au contact agréable...
Btw., what exactly is a 'Chawan' ?
From the Chinese word for "tea bowl", this is a highly codified object.
In a few words: in the Chawan, tea leaves are mixed directly with hot water. The user contemplates the unfolding of the leaves in the course of 3 successive waters. The criteria for a good chawan are numerous, and personal taste has its place.
My favorite criteria: In addition to the aesthetic qualities, strength and stability, a chawan should be gentle to hold in hands, warm the hands without burning them, allow the fragrances to be exhaled, have a pleasantly tactile lip...
